The Barbarians Have a New Team Mate… Meet Vitto!

The Barbarians Women's team has a new teammate joining them this summer - and it's us!

Mamma mia, we're excited about this one…

The Barbarians Women's team has a new teammate joining them this summer - and it's us!

Vitto is proud to be sponsoring the Barbarians Women's rugby team ahead of their match against Wales on 27 June at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

Now, before anyone starts worrying, we won't be pulling on a jersey or packing down in the scrum. We'll be doing what we do best: bringing people together, enjoying some delicious food and cheering the team on every step of the way.

If you're not familiar with the Barbarians, they're one of rugby's most unique teams. Players come together from different clubs, countries and backgrounds, spending just one week together before taking to the pitch. In that short space of time, they build friendships, earn each other's trust and create memories that often last a lifetime.

At Vitto, we're big believers in conviviality, the Italian idea that life's best moments happen when people come together to share food, stories and experiences. The Barbarians do something remarkably similar. They bring people together, create a sense of belonging almost instantly and prove that great things can happen when everyone gathers around a shared purpose.

Theirs just happens to involve a rugby ball rather than a dinner table!

And let's be honest, we're also rather fond of carbs. While we can't promise our pasta will be responsible for any tries scored on 27 June, we're more than happy to do our bit when it comes to helping fuel athletes and keeping them match ready.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be getting to know the players, sharing behind-the-scenes moments and celebrating everything that makes the Barbarians experience so special.

We'll also be proudly taking our place on the team sheet (well, sort of).

You might spot a little bit of Vitto on the famous black-and-white jersey this summer. Don't worry, it's our logo splashed across the shirts, not tomato sauce.

And while we're not officially suggesting a rebrand, if the team happens to score a few extra tries after fuelling up on carbs, we wouldn't be completely opposed to the name "The Carb-arians"

We're incredibly proud to be part of the journey and can't wait to cheer the team on against Wales later this month.

Thank you to the Barbarians for making room for one more teammate.
