Instructions
STEP 1
Cook the gnocchi
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
STEP 2
Heat the sauce
While the gnocchi cook, heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Pour in the Vitto Tomato & Basil sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
STEP 3
Combine the gnocchi and sauce
Add the cooked gnocchi to the pan with the sauce. Toss gently to ensure each gnocco is well coated with the rich tomato and basil flavors.
STEP 4
Serve and garnish
Serve the gnocchi hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
CHEF TIPS
For an authentic Italian twist, add a small knob of butter to the sauce as it heats. This will help the sauce cling to the gnocchi better and give it a rich, creamy texture that’s typical of Italian home cooking.
